Philip Boston

Raised in Margaret River, Western Australia, Boston was very active in the arts growing up. He studied at the Mount Lawley Academy of Performing Arts in Perth. After spending several years as a highly acclaimed production designer in commercials and music videos, Boston transitioned into directing.

Boston’s work as a director has won multiple awards in numerous award shows, Clio’s, Promax and Telly’s. He has been labeled as a ‘Filmmaker to Watch’ in Shoot Magazine. In addition to being a successful commercial director, Boston has also worked as a 2nd unit director shooting action sequences for some of Hollywood’s biggest motion pictures, having recently completed action units for Chasing Mavericks & Point Break.

His directing efforts led to interest from Quentin Tarantino and Lawrence Bender’s production company to which he was soon signed as a commercial director. Soon after, he was noticed by executives at Warner Brothers and hired to direct the feature film documentary “Billabong Odyssey”.

The film went on to achieve worldwide acclaim from international critics and audiences alike and is credited with being one of the top 10 most influential environmental films of all time. Since directing “Billabong Odyssey”, Boston has directed campaigns for clients as wide ranging as Samsung, Red Bull, Nike, Nissan, Hornitos, ABC, Atari, Energizer and Garmin to name a few.
